BBC Domesday Reloaded Project

25 years ago the BBC started a project called Domesday Reloaded. The idea was to record snapshots of what life was like in 1985 and create an archive that could be accessed by generations to come. There are also some fascinating written accounts. If you put your postcode into the search box it will bring any relevant photos or accounts for your area.

Use the link below to access the archive and take a trip down memory lane.

The History department would like to run a similar project and would like to create an archive of digital images that will give an insight to future generations of life in 2011. If you would like to have your image included in the archive please email a member of the history department, including your name and a quick caption to go with the photograph. These will then be loaded up onto our digital archive which will available to view through this website. Any student who contributes will gain a house point and the best photographs will win a prize. We very much look forward to recording your images.
